Basic Eye Brushes one should have!

Hey Everyone!

So today’s post is kind of important. Why? Well..up until a couple of months ago, I wasn’t really the eyeshadow kinda gal. I just thought that it really didn’t matter that much. But, one day BAM it hit, and now I can’t get enough of eyeshadow colors. Don’t get me wrong, I had a ton of loose shadows from bareMinerals from before, but I just never used them. So now I am trying to expand my collection-not too much though!

After getting into wearing eyeshadow, I realized having good eye brushes is EXTREMELY essential to how the look comes out. If you are one of those people that uses the brushes that come in the palettes- you need to chuck ’em out.

I started collecting some from Sephora, Real Techniques, and a new brand I discovered called Bdellium Tools. I think I now pretty much have all the basic tools one needs to achieve a good eye look. Image

Bdellium Tools is a new brand that I discovered while shopping for synthetic brushes. I have sensitive skin, and it didn’t really feel right knowing that some brushes are made out of pony and horse hair. Bdellium Tools sell their stuff at IMATS and you can easily purchase their stuff off of iherb.com, amazon, or bdelliumtools.com

This little thing is called a brow/liner brush and this is perfecttt for a cat eye look. I never really liked to use angled brushes to make that flick but this works really well as it is so small!

This little thing is called a pencil brush. This is so nice to smudge your eyeliner/eyeshadow underneath your eyes to give you a smoky eye look!

This is an angled contour brush. It is really good for the crease to give some definition in that area, the shape is perfect so it fits right in the socket area.

This is the same contour brush at a different angle.

This brush is used to pack on shadow onto the lid. This brush is a must.

This brush is good for the crease as well, and the outer v corner, and the inner eye!

This little brush is called the smoky liner brush. I use this often to apply gel liner to the lower lash line and smudge it out.

Overall, I am really happy with Bdellium Tools. As you can tell from the pictures, they are getting some good use. The brushes with the green handles are made with bamboo and the bristles are all synthetic. Many people say that synthetic brushes don’t really pick up product as well as natural hair bristles do, but having tried both at some point there is no difference with these. You can pick this kit up for $22 at iherb.com and it is called Smoky eyes 5 piece-brush set!

Ok from left to right. The purple brush is the new silicone liner brush from Real Techniques. The idea behind this new discovery is that the product remains at the tip, and it maintains it’s shape. For $5.99 this pretty much does the job, and makes applying gel liner a cinch. Next to that is the Sephora smudge brush with an aluminum handle. I really like this brush and it really is easy to smudge powder liner underneath the lower lash line. The one next to that is another angled liner brush from Sephora that I use to fill in my brows! This bristles are stiff and synthetic and this is what helps gives your brows good definition. The other three brushes are just other options for liner/angled brushes that you could use by bareMinerals, Tarte, and Sephora.

I hope this post was helpful!
