    June 1st, 2016

It’s time for a new launch. Cover fx, is a brand known for its customer cover drops as well as formulating products that are non-irritating to the skin and that are wearable for those who are acne prone.

Just saw on Sephora today that they have add their Custom Enhancer Drops which are formulated to give you an amazing glow. You can mix them into your foundations or apply them as a highlighter. There are 6 shades- 4 illuminating and 2 are bronzer shades. I really am curious and just might pick up the sunlight shades.

Go check’em out and see what you think and let me know if you purchased one.

They retail for $42 for a 0.5 oz bottle!

  • Jaclyn Hill, Champagne Glow Face Palette

    May 26th, 2016

    Hello Everyone,

As you must have seen the entire Champagne Glow Collection went live today! Woohoo

So, I was able to get my hands on the palette last week before it launched worldwide.

    3 blushes, and 2 highlighters
    3 blushes, and 2 highlighters

As you can see the packaging is lovely. It is weighted and the entire look and feel is completely Jaclyn Hill. If you don’t follow her on youtube, I would definitely recommend watching her and subscribing. Her personality just shines through.

Last year, she launched Champagne Pop which is the highlighter on the lower left corner. Its a peach gold and it was huge success and BECCA made it permanent.

So this year, they came out with an entire collection around that highlighter. I only picked up this limited edition face palette. It retails for $52 and I guess it’s already sold out on Sephora.com but you can pick it up in stores on June 16th.

I never bought Champagne Pop. I was never really intrigued and I was kind of meh, about powder highlighters back then. So I have become an even bigger fan of Jaclyn’s and when I knew this Palette was limited edition I just bought it.

The top row: From left to right: the first shade is called Rose Spritz and it is Becca’s new Luminous Blus formula which can be used at a blush topper or by itself. It is very, very luminous mind you, hence the name. The next is Amaretto, and wonderful matte satin Brown with a hint of mauve. This is great for contour if you have lighter skin or on tan skin it works well as a blush. Next, is The shade called Pamplemousse, a bright coral pink and this has shimmer in it too but not as much as the first shade.

Next is the iconic Champagne Pop on the lower left corner, and the one next to it is the sister shade and a new one called Presecco Pop.

Champagne Pop is a peachy golden highlighter whereas the one next to it is a gold.

Now, I have not tried the original formula so I cannot compare it to that one. But, when I wear the highlighters or swatch them, they are soo soft and creamy and appear to have a “wet” look. That’s how finely milled the powders are. And, I am still playing around with the blushes and Amaretto and Pamplemousse are my favorites. They look natural on the skin, and the powders just blend very seamlessly. According to Temptalia this formula of Champagne Pop is a litte different but nonetheless very nice!

The pigmentation regardless is great for all of the 5 colors. So, creamy and blendable and you just need a light touch to pack on the color.

I would call this a collector’s item. You definitely do not NEED it.. but if you are curious to try the formulas of Becca and want an all in one palette, then I definitely do recommend it.

  • Tata Harper Volumizing Lip/Cheek tint Very Popular

    May 26th, 2016

Blush, is one of my favorite, I mean favorite go to  items. And, since the summer months are coming around, I like to add more creamier products to my skin.

I have always been super curious about the Tata Harper Cheek Tints, so decided to try this rose shade called very popular. And my, it is beautiful.DSC_0569

This rose shade gives the most beautiful glow to the skin. And, even though it goes on like a cream formula it sets very well. So I would even go far to say its a cream-to-powder formula. I really really like it. It retails for $36 for .15oz.

It is small, but I am sure it will go a long way. I usually use my fingers to apply this as it gives the best finish and blends beautifully.

I highly recommend these if you are in the market for a new blush. Never can go wrong with Tata Harper.

  • Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Skin Twinkle Lighting Palette

    May 19th, 2016

I hadn’t bought any new highlighters since the Hourglass Ambient powders. When this palette initially came out I really wasn’t curious and had no intention of buying it.

But, I came across it in store during the VIB rouge sale and had to have it. These highlighting powders are so smooth and buttery I can’t even tell you and the pigmentation on these is oh so amazing. It’s the only palette I have been using since last month and I am just very pleased. The palette was retailing for $42 and comes with three shades. A more yellow gold higher, a rosy pink one, and the one in the middle is a matte highlighter with subtle shimmer. I think this one is great to set the under eye area as it is more yellow based as well.

I have tan skin tone and I think these are very very flattering on my skin tone. Summer is all about that dewy glow and this definitely gives you that.

This is currently out of stock on Sephora.com and on Tartecosmetics.com. There is a chance that you might find this in stores any where near you and if so, I would definitely recommend picking it up!

The packaging for this is also gorgeous. Blue is my favorite color and this just appealed to me right away.

The mirror in it is a good sized one and can be used to travel with.

Let me know your thoughts on this palette!

  • Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Foundation

    May 12th, 2016

I have been foundation hunting for a long long time now. It’s literally been months..

When I heard Tarte was coming out with a new water foundation, I had to have it. I had actually ordered this about 2 months ago, wore it for a week and returned it. I thought that I wasn’t too happy with it.

But, I gave it another go after purchasing it a couple weeks ago and I am really really liking. Your skin, just ends up looking like skin. And, it doesn’t feel like you are wearing anything at all. To give it a bit more glow and luminosity I have been wearing an illuminating primer underneath.

The reason I went back to this foundation was because of the undertones. A lot of foudnations I came across had a very grey undertone to them and they were  making me look washed out.I like that this foundation has warmer undertones to it.

A lot of people have been raving about it and I think that it’s worth giving a shot. I just wish they would expand the shade range a bit. I wear the shade tan right now, but it’s sliightly light for me, and deep is way too dark.

Other than that.. It is very buildable and does not look cakey at all. I would call this foundation a medium coverage one which keeps your skin hydrating.

The other con, is the packaging. The glass bottle is beautiful but the dropper is quite messy.. I wish they could change it to a pump or something.

It retails for $39 for a 1oz bottle and can be found at tartecosmetics.com or Sephora!

Let me know if you have tried it or plan to!

  • Hourglass Diffused Heat Blush

    May 10th, 2016

With the summer months around the corner, I wanted to add some luminosity to my cheeks as well as a pop of color.

I am a blush lover, but I have stopped purchasing way too many. For one thing, there is almost that one color you reach for on a constant basis, and there wasn’t anything that caught my eye significantly.

I wanted a blush that wasn’t going to over do it, and I was looking for a more coral/red color. Then, I thought I would get one of the Hourglass blushes in the shade Diffused Heat during the VIB Sale.

Now, I never bought these when they first came out as some people liked them and some didn’t. But, I got a chance to test these out when they came out in the Holiday Palette last year.

    DSC_0570DSC_0571

Diffused Heat is this beautiful 2 toned blush with beautiful coral/red color with a hint of pink and with warm undertones. It looks like this is mixed in with their ambient lighting powder in Diffused light. The thoery is that the blush will also have an ambient powder mixed in to give it the same “glow-from-within” look. I absolutely love this shade. Now, when you use a brush, a lot of powder does pick up, but I think you can’t over do it on your cheeks. The colors are definitely buildable  and, the finish of the blush is radiant.

It wore throughout the day on me, and I didn’t have to touch it up at all..

The powder is also finely milled and that’s what is great about these blushes!

They retail for $38 for .15oz.

If you’ve already tried them, let me know what you think. If not, pick it up and see how you like it.

  • Color Correcting Anyone?

    May 10th, 2016

I know this trend of color color correcting has been picking up full speed.. and in all honestly I believe a lot of it is over hyped. I personally don’t see the need for sooooo many shades and colors.

But,one thing atleast I think we would all like to get rid of are dark circles. I like my undereyes to be bright and sometimes just the concealer alone does not do the job.

So, initially I was playing around the Urban Decay/Cover FX/Algenist color correctors all in the peach/orange family. But, none really wore well on me– due to the undertones, or the consistency and the undereye area would crease badly when I was laying so many products.

So, here comes the Becca Backlight Targeted Colour Corrector in Peach. This is an organe shade which works well with my skintone.. and the consistency is that of a gel. So it dries well and stays put well. This underneath the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Concealer has been really doing the job for me.

This product applies realy sheer so its buildable and it has a slight luminosity that shows through.

It retails for $30 for .16oz and you can find this at Sephora!

  • Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Aquacealer Concealer

    May 4th, 2016

Concealer can be a very tricky product to buy! Atleast for me…

I was originally using the Tarte Maracuja concealer since I have dry undereyes.. but everything would crease and my eyeliner would smudge underneath. And, I wanted to wear a color corrector underneath, but that was too many cream products that I was layering..

Hence, during the Sephora VIB Rouge sale, I saw this concealer and I just purchased it. I had heard that it has a more watery consistency but is still hydrating.

I bought this along with a gel based color corrector and bundled it with the Tarte Amazonian Clay finishing powder and my undereye are has never looked better.

This concealer sets within seconds and is so easy to work with. It’s a product that you can definitely build up as well. It has a very water-y consistency and is a dream.

The only con, is the smell. It kind of smells like paint but fades away after soemtime.

Another thing– I really hope they expand the shade range as that might work out better for a wider range of people. But, overall, I am very very happy with it.

I personally really like the packaging. The frosted glass bottle is beautiful and there actually is no dropper but an applicator that is attached to the wand!

And, this product retails for $26 for .34 oz and you can find it at Sephora or tartecosmetics.com.

Do go check it out and tell me what you think about it!DSC_0553
